Since it’s World Aids Day…This was a super interesting Radiolab podcast episode I heard a few weeks ago about tracing the roots of diseases to the first patient aka “patient zero”. The first story is about the origin of typhoid fever which is interesting, but definitely listen to the second story about tracing the roots of AIDS not just to the first infected person, but to the first monkey in Africa and how the virus possibly spilled over to humans.
